Biten by the bug

My DD 13 has been bitten by the bug...the horse bug, that is! I thought it skipped a generation, but it doesn't. She loves horses so much and she is not snobbish with her tastes. Any horse would do her just fine. Although, she does have favorites - the ones that have shiny coats. The object of her current affection is named Ramsey...a 6 year old Palomino gelding. She got to ride him today...what pure joy on her face. I wish I had my camera. I am so glad she got to ride. Now, we just need to figure out if this is the horse for her. It is hard to think about riding right now, since it is getting so cold in Wisconsin...I said to her, can't we just wait until warm weather? She really doesn't mind riding in the cold - that is what the bug does to you...it gets in your heart and mind and nothing matters but that horse...you see, I know, because I was bitten once too. We will really be in trouble if DD 8 gets bit!
